In the first of a series of blogs about our authors, we decided to put the spotlight on Jean-luc Chaumeil, the French author of “The Priory of Sion” published by Avalonia late last year. This book, which is the English translation of his 2006 works Rennes-le-Château– Les Archives du Prieuré de Sion (Rennes-le-Château – The Archives of the Priory of Sion) and Rennes-le-Château – Gisors – Le Testament du Prieuré de Sion (Rennes-le-Château – Gisors – The Priory of Sion Legacy is a sober look at the mysteries of Rennes-le-Château and the Priory of Sion.
So who is Jean-luc Chaumeil?
Jean-Luc Chaumeil was born in Lille, France, on 20th October 1944 and went into higher education after completing his secondary studies. He is a writer, artist and investigative journalist, and the fourth member and sole survivor of the Priory of Sion, after the deaths of the three original members Pierre Plantard, Gérard de Sède and Philippe de Chérisey and has always maintained that the Priory of Sion was a hoax since he first started researching and writing about it in the 1970′s.
He is the Great Master of the Grand Loge Independante et Régulière de Memphis Misraïm (with three lodges, Héliopolis, Fénelon-Ramsay and marquis de Chefdebien) and he is is Chevalier of Palestine in the hermetic college, with two Ateliers of Theurgy from the Myrian therapeutic branch and from the Great Order of Osiris as a member of the Rose-croix.
